When I head back home to Rhode Island after a winter stay in Florida, I'm always greeted by these big, luminous patches on my lawn that genuinely look like the last remnants of melting snow. My neighbors, sweet as can be, keep me posted while I'm away — they'll even snap photos of those first little dabs of white peeking out in the middle of a freezing February.
