Records Kept
Herbarium Vivum keeps only the records needed to maintain the archive and its correspondence. When you join the specimen exchange or address the curator, your correspondence address is filed solely for the purpose of reply. It is not sold, traded, or pressed into any other cabinet.
Specimen Exchange
If you subscribe to the exsiccatae, your address is used to send the monthly botanical correspondence. You may withdraw from the exchange at any time by addressing the curator; your record will be removed from the mailing cabinet.
Index Searches
The index terminal operates entirely within your own browser. Queries are not transmitted to, or recorded by, the archive. The card index is embedded in the page; the sorting is done on your desk, not ours.
Cookies & Tracking
The archive sets no tracking cookies. Analytics, if any, are aggregate and anonymised — a count of visitors, not a dossier. The cabinets respect the privacy of every correspondent.
Third-Party Services
Page typography is served by font CDNs; the dust-mote animation draws on a 3D library from a CDN. These services may record standard request logs. No plant specimens, personal notes, or correspondence content is shared with them.
